Flexible SCM on cloud

Amitive Inc. is a leading provider of on-demand Supply Chain Management solutions. They partnered with Imaginea to build a flexible, configurable, extensible, robust and scalable solution, deployable in SaaS mode.

The challenge was to build a framework for customizable, collaborative business workflows for any vertical industry, supporting document flow. Imaginea also had to enable multi-tenancy in a generic manner allowing application usage with data partitioned from the perspective of the customer organization. The security system for single domain implementations was to scale-up for SaaS models (multi-tenancy) as well. There would be a provision to share an integration server with more than one community.

Imaginea's simple, agile product development process focusing on incremental delivery and QA helped build a well-designed, quality product that was available on time. The integration messages framework used Hibernate for persistence and extended JBPM workflow by creating additional actions and nodes. JBoss rules made business process configuration flexible and customizable. The team's Spring and J2EE experience solved transaction related problems. Flex was used for Flow design studio and On-Demand Supply profile. Imaginea's Interaction Design expertise promptly delivered a brilliant, user-friendly UI that scales and is customizable. Imaginea helped Amitive go live quickly and also helped at some initial customer sites.
