Testing enterprise mashups

This market leader provides an Enterprise Web 2.0 Mashup Platform with tools to improve the functionality and performance of Web applications. The company was to release a product beta of their new platform. This meant changing the existing product positioning, and required a strong product QA team that could do R&D, adapt to changing product strategy, test features with minimal requirements and replicate and certify the product on enterprise environments.

The Imaginea Test Engineering team provided functional testing and automation, Inter-Operability Testing, Performance Testing and Automation.

1. Created a smoke test suite that was updated iteratively, with inputs for test cases from the customer's sales teams
2. Created a repository of web services to ensure ready availability and proper coverage of scenarios
3. Created an Inter-Operability test strategy with a matrix of several components
4. Put together an Inter-Operability Test Lab
5. Functional Testing and Automation using Ruby + WATIR and SOASTA.
6. Performance Testing and Automation using JMeter™ and WebLOAD™

After the functional sign-off, the Imaginea Test-Engineering team provided a user-driven, Go-To-Market testing using specially written use cases, for a specific period of time. The team identified various use cases, workflows and scenarios that needed to be demoed by QA before its market availability. The Product Management and Marketing teams tested the product in a fresh environment instead of the one used for testing individual features, and gave the sign-off.
