In recent years, videos have zipped away from the TV screens to the computer, dramatically changing the way information is presented and consumed. PLYmedia, a pioneer in the development, design and deployment of an interactive, multi-dimensional web video platform, approached Imaginea to design and develop an interactive and cool video overlay widget to enhance video accessibility, for better visual integration and to provide support for advertisements.

Plymedia wanted Imaginea to deliver an appealing, sophisticated UI design specification along with a prototype, to demonstrate enhanced user interaction features. Imaginea created various interaction design concepts before choosing a concept that fit the requirements, the expectations of the customer and their vision of the product. Imaginea created a brand new widget that the publishers could embed in their videos, while hosting popular online video services. The widget would load into a custom video canvas, provided auto translation and customizable caption sizes and widget color schemes.

Imaginea's Interaction Design team was committed to leveraging the features of Flash IDE and providing video users a visual treat, and providing contextual content.

1. The team provided high-quality, text rendering using improved, appealing text effects and animated text objects that worked in synch with the content
2. The team used keyboard controls to improve accessibility to the videos and content
3. The team improved visual affordance - a visual clue to the function of menu items, using Flash event animations.

Plymedia was so pleased with the UI design created by the Imaginea Interaction Design team in just four weeks since the start of the engagement, that they awarded the widget development project to Imaginea as well.
